Inland Northwest Honor Flight is making it's third trip of 2011 this Friday July 15 at 11:55. Vets will be gathering at the Spokane Airport about 10:30 am...they will return Sunday July 17 at 4:20 in the afternoon. INWHF will be making a special presentation on Friday July 15 to the family of Pvt. Herman Sturmer whose remains were recently returned to Spokane. Inland Northwest Honor Flight continues to honor our living World War II vets for their sacrifices and especially those who paid the ultimate price--giving their lives to protect our freedoms.

For those who know Andrew Holquin, they'll tell you he definitely stands out in a crowd. "I'm not very quiet...I will usually tell you what's on my mind," said Holguin with a smile.

Holguin who is a well known community activist in Spokane has always had passion for education. Especially when it comes to underprivileged children and those with less opportunity and access to education.

The Spokane County Regional Animal Protection Service, or SCRAPS, is so overwhelmed with cats and dogs, they need your help. The animal shelter received 23 animals Tuesday, many of them had ran away from their homes because of the Fourth of July fireworks. Some had to be transferred to a rescue facility on the west side of the state to make room in the Scraps facility. Scraps is offering a special on adult cats all week thru Saturday. Licenses are 15 dollars.

Vision Seekers Youth Art Workshop

Vision Seekers Youth Art Workshop
The Vision Seekers Youth Art Workshop is this Saturday, July 9 from 8:30am to 3pm at the Jacklin Arts Center.  This event is one of several of the Julyamsh, which is said to be the largest PowWow in the northwest.  The Jackin Arts Center is  pleased to host this interactive arts education retreat for our local youth to experience native American art and culture from internationally known American Indian artists.
