Anonymous Call Leads Police To Stabbing Victim

Anonymous Call Leads Police To Stabbing Victim

An anonymous phone call about a "dead person" in a bathtub led Spokane Police to a home in North Spokane where they found a man who had been stabbed, but was still alive.

The call was made around 2:40 a.m. Tuesday. Officers responded and found the home in the 2500 block of North Hamilton.

When officers arrived they talked with someone inside the house that had no idea there was a problem at the residence. In the bathroom, however, police found a man with stab wounds.

He was transported to a hospital and is in critical condition.

The Eyelash Extension Buzz

The Eyelash Extension Buzz

As a woman with relatively wimpy eyelashes, I had to get in on a new trend sweeping Spokane... eye lash extensions. Women I know who wear them, swear by them. They make your lashes longer, thicker and eliminate the need for mascara. No mascara? Thicker, longer lashes? I had to try it.

You wouldn't notice Eileen Frances' Beautiful Lashes storefront from the street. I didn't. I drove right by it.

Volunteer Opportunity: Citizen's Transportation Advisory Board

The City of Spokane is seeking applicants for the Citizen's Transportation Advisory Board (CTAB) to help determine priorities for the Transportation Benefit District (TBD). The district is an independent taxing district created in October 2010 to help the City better maintain its street system and pedestrian infrastructure. The Spokane City Council serves as the TBD governing board separately from their Council duties.

Early Morning Garage Fire Considered Suspicious

Early Morning Garage Fire Considered Suspicious

A garage fire in Northeast Spokane is being called suspicious because nobody was home at the time the fire started.

The fire was called in around 1:30 a.m. near the intersection of Crown and Pittsburgh.

When firefighters arrived they saw smoke coming from the garage. Fortunately, the fire did not spread to the home. Avista had to be called in to take down a power line because it was damaged in the fire.

Crews say nothing was inside the garage at the time of the fire and the home was unoccupied, which is why they think the fire is suspicious.
