Class On Interpreting Your Dog's Behavior

Ever wonder what your dog is thinking? How he feels about other dogs he meets? Now you have a chance to interpret your dog's behavior. On Wednesday June 8th, REI is hosting a canine communication and dog park etiquette safety class.

Certified professional dog trainer Carol Byrnes, owner of Diamonds in the Ruff, is teaching a class on how to read your favorite Rover.

Follow the Yellow Brick Road all the way to Schuler Performing Arts Center in Boswell Hall for the Coeur d'Alene Summer Theatre's Wizard of Oz. The wicked witch is played by Ellen Travolta and Jack Bannon plays the Wizard. The show is sure to entertain young and old alike as again Dorothy leaves Kansas and winds up in the magical land of OZ. Come see the flying monkeys and travel with Dorothy and Toto as they dance and sing along the Yellow Brick Road to the Emerald City with her three companions; the Lion, the Tin Man and the Scarecrow. Local Brewers Headed West With Their Brews

The Washington Brewers Festival is a week and a half away in Seattle.If you happen to be traveling over to western Washington and are hoping to find a familiar taste of home, you're best bet is this event. Two Eastern Washington breweries are attending. A few weeks ago, we posted about which breweries, but now we know which beers they will be presenting.

Free Summer Meals For Children

Hunger doesn’t stop during summer vacation. But thanks to the Summer Meals Program, students who rely on school meals can continue receiving nutritious breakfasts and lunches through the summer.

SNAP Seeking Fallen Trees For Firewood Program

It might be warming up outside, but SNAP is already looking ahead to next winter and needs your help finding downed trees.

SNAP teams up with the Airway Heights Correctional Center for the Firewood Program, which has inmates cut, stack and deliver wood to families who rely on wood as their sole source of heating during the winter months.

Over $68,000 in wood was delivered to 340 Spokane County homes last winter season, according to SNAP.

There are so many aspects of color and The Gallery of T.H.U.M. will give you an avenue to explore those aspects. The Color Theory Class being offered at T.H.U.M. will teach you about the color wheel, complementary colors, characterists of color hue, value, intensity, temperature, mixing colors and how colors affect each other. This is a hands on course being offered to students ages 16 to adult and class size is limited so please call Gallery of T.H.U.M. for reservations.
