University district bar looking for new name | Business

It was a moment of tragedy when Spokane learned that a Gonzaga institution was closing its doors last August. The Bulldog Tavern, after 65 years of business, would no longer exist due to landlord issues.

The new owner, Mary Livingston, wants to continue the college experience for the neighborhood and make the new bar part of the tradition, but first they need a name.

After a quiet re-opening with a new bar last December, they tried to go with The 1305 Club, a reference to the street address at 1305 N. Hamilton. They decided that wasn’t good enough.
