The Spokane area can apparently not get enough soccer.

That's what Heather and Greg Moore figured when they decided to open the It's a Soccer Life facility in Spokane Valley. The facility opened Jan. 2.

“Once your family gets into soccer, it really consumes you,” explained Heather Moore.

Moore said that other facilities in the region were overbooked and turning teams away so the Moores saw it as an opportunity to make sure soccer families are well served.

The facility hosts camps, tournaments, practices and leagues for both adults and children. So far the Nooner sessions have attracted all types, with ages ranging from 19 to 75 so far.

The facility boasts state-of-the-art equipment with a turf field and a futsal surface.

About 36 youth teams have already registered to play, and the facility will start accepting adult leagues in the middle of February.

“We want to take it one step at a time,” Heather said.

It's a Soccer Life has a full concession stand with espresso for sleepy-eyed parents going to their kids' early-morning contests.

“We really just want to serve the soccer loving families in our community,” she said.
